Responsibilities & Qualifications:
- Our site Mangers coordinate outage work on large hydropower projects and are face to face with the customer.
- Our most successful staff, typically come up the ranks beginning as a millwright and progressing to foreman and then on to project responsibility or as an engineer or designer with a similar progression.
- Coordinates with the overall PM to ensure that the project comes in on time and on budget.
- Extensive travel with long periods on site required.
- Crewing job, quality control, safety plans and compliance, cost control, financial budget and man-hour budget compliance.
- Evaluate and clarify contract requirements, opportunities, risks and penalties – incorporate into project execution plans and communicate same to work crews.
- Resolve contract issues including deviations and when required excalate for resolution by project manager.
- Monitoring the work progress to ensure installation is in accordance with the construction / engineering drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with customer's M&O personnel for crane service coordination, equipment and materials staging, storage, safety etc.
- Create and manage daily work plans.
- Coordinate with Equipment vendors and equipment vendors manufacturing operations to facilitate expediting and schedule compliance.
- Supervise Craft Disciplines Union and Non Union ability to maintain productive labor relations.
- Experience in steam or hydro turbine and generator rehabilitation including rewinds.
- Contract administration, project scheduling reporting and tracking.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills and even temperament.
- Experience in evaluating engineering drawings vs as built conditions and coordinating with engineering design the customer and OEMS to execute to QC standards.
- Experience coordinating complex project activities simultaneously, including reporting and tracking to achieve budget and timing targets.
- People skills / persuasion skills and managerial skill sets.
